River Knight

River Knight is an acoustic duo from Southampton, UK, formed by vocalist Mark Stone River and guitarist Darren Knight. Their music blends folk, indie, and rock influences into heartfelt acoustic songs with rich harmonies and lyrical depth.

The duo began in 2017 following a personal tragedy. After the death of Darren’s wife to cancer, music became a shared outlet for healing. What started as therapeutic sessions grew into a creative partnership, giving rise to River Knight.

Their debut single Heaven’s Door (2018) was released as a charity track, with all artist royalties donated to cancer charities—a tribute to Darren’s late wife. It set the tone for a musical journey defined by sincerity and emotional storytelling.

In 2021, they released their debut album Grow, a thoughtful collection of acoustic tracks reflecting themes of love, loss, and resilience. Since then, River Knight has continued to evolve, with singles like She Came Round (2021), Unsprung (2022), and Green and Gold (2023) expanding their sound with orchestral touches and dynamic arrangements.

Their work has been praised by indie critics, with A&R Factory describing Green and Gold as a “socialist orchestral folk-rock masterpiece.” The duo performs regularly across the UK, including intimate venues and in-store gigs such as HMV Southampton.
