Michael Vickers

Named one of BBC Introducing in the East Midlands’ most played artists of 2019 and 2020, Michael Vickers is a British singer-songwriter from Leicester. His unique combination of indie-rock, pop, hip-hop and heartfelt, anecdotal lyrics delivered with a raw, rap inspired vocal has had audiences describing his music as “clever, captivating, beautiful, vivacious, unique and spellbinding."

Michael has came on a lot from his school days - writing lyrics whilst stood in the corridor outside of a classroom fed up with his distracting antics - he ​has performed at countless venues and festivals, including the one and only Glastonbury Festival and 2000 Trees. As well as performing at De Montfort Hall Gardens in the summer of 2019 with his band, he has featured in promotional videos for Roland, signed publishing deals to BMG and has had his tracks placed in TV and Film.

His previous EP - Poetic Nonsense - received an impressive amount of airplay, with 2 singles (Dead & Buried, When You Said That We Were Through) being selected as BBC Introducing in The East Midlands' Track of the Week.

Now, 1 year on from Poetic Nonsense, Vickers is back with some brand new material.

‘Don’t Stop’ was released on 21st January 2022 on Dog Collar Records and has received a successful amount of airplay. Produced by Noah Booth and Alex Condliffe, and mastered by Christian Wright at the infamous Abbey Road Studios, it is the 6th track by Vickers to have been selected as BBC Introducing in the East Midlands' Track of the Week.

His next single B Gospel was released through Dog Collar Records on 18th February and is the second of 3 singles from his upcoming EP - Words To That Effect. The Music Video for B Gospel which has received both local and national airplay on BBC Introducing in the East Midlands and on Tom Robinson's BBC Introducing mixtape on 6Music, was released 21st February.

Each of the upcoming singles will be accompanied with music videos created by the fantastic Chromosphere Media.
