Tom Jane (Guitar & Vocals), Sam Burgum (Bass & Vocals) and Hugh Butler (Keys & Drums) formed in 2019. They’ve since had a series of releases, ranging from: Take a Mile (2021) described by BBC Introducing’s Christian Carlisle as a ‘soundtrack for a bar fight in a Western’; to the recent Never Cry (2022) with RGM Magazine raving about a ‘vintage blues twist and infectious groove’ and Sound Pylon craving the ‘sexy and saucy Hendrix vibes’.

On stage, the band has electrified audiences near and far, with the live set described by Northern Exposure as a ‘brilliant bluesy trio, serving up John Mayer-esque gruff vocals mixed with the hip-shaking groove of Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black’. Lightning Threads have played prestigious venues such as The Leadmill and O2 Academy Sheffield.
