Hand-picked by Yamaha to be the first ever Yamaha Music London Ambassador band and winners of the 2023 Glastonbury/Pilton Party competition, Galaxy Thief are a British indie rock 4-piece from Dorset. Formed in early 2017, influences from bands such as Nothing But Thieves, The 1975, The Band CAMINO & Angels and Airwaves infuse a unique and unprecedented sound. From local music venues to festivals around the UK, they have built a reputation for energetic live shows that bring their fans back time and time again.
The unstoppable band brotherhood is made up of Rhys Messenger (Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), George Bowerman (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Ben Watton (Drums) and Jake Trim (Bass/Vocals).

Since creation, the band have unleashed 2 EP's and a bunch of singles prior to a shift in aesthetic in 2021. The band’s music has drawn a wider audience worldwide. Once Galaxy Thief began working with producer Michael Smith (RYP Recordings), the production of 'Free', 'Timewaster', 'Reason', 'I Need You', 'Years', 'Second Messing' and 'Something New' commenced. All of their music has received hundreds of radio plays including BBC Introducing Solent with interviews on a number of regional radio stations as well as several TV appearances. In December 2023 they opened for Jake Bugg at the Poole Lighthouse Theatre and returned there in January 24 to attend the Original Music Awards for Dorset where they won "Best Live Act".
