5 Hills Out

In a small town in Derbyshire, five people of an Agit-Folk persuasion were drawn together.
Two were united by their love of each other and punk, one was a seasoned fretless folky,
one was a troubadour that hadn’t found his home and the other was lost and just looking
for the right musical shelter. Their unrest at the political sphere and their collective love of
the aggression and power of punk were united with their folk heritage tendencies. In the
town where the only thing that leaves is the 5 Hills and the tourists, the band took their
name on the way out of there and onwards to their path of folk, punk and truth.
Now they are making their stand against messing up the world, armed with passionate
lyrics and a deadly arsenal of folk instruments and distortion, escape is futile.
The band have played extensive live shows around the Peak District, which enabled the
self-released debut acoustic EP 'No Way In' in 2016, on all major download platforms and
CD. They released their second EP ‘Still Outside’ in autumn 2017, which showed the
band’s diverse electric capabilities. The band saw their third release in 2019 ‘The Snug
Sessions’, receive critical acclaim and multiple airplays. The release was the first on the
band’s own label ‘Culvert Collective Recordings’, which was followed later that year by
their second release, Christmas single ‘Snowfall. This has helped lead the band to various
festival bookings.
